Launching an Online Advertising Career Via Distance Learning

Why would a company like Coca-Cola spend almost $2 billion a year on advertising? How can billboards, magazine spreads, jingles, and catchy slogans possibly justify such extravagant spending? The simple answer is, advertising works. And Coke is not the only company that recognizes this. Almost any brands, company, idea, or political party that you can think of uses advertising to get the word out. And because it’s an industry that never stops, there is plenty of room for you—if you have the necessary training and creativity.

Mastering Advertising Requires In-Depth Education

Given how complex advertising is (especially online advertising) it should be no surprise that many of the most successful marketers have advanced degrees in the field. After mastering economics, consumer psychology, statistics, and business courses, you, too, can be on your way to becoming a successful Fifth Avenue guru. But you don’t necessarily need to relocate to New York (or any other major city) to secure your education.

Mastering Advertising through Distance Learning

Online advertising is the new—and very lucrative—frontier that marketers must conquer. Thus, it only makes sense that distance learning via online programs would serve as a useful training ground for teaching this branch of advertising. If you can develop greater familiarity with computer technology, HTML, and Internet resources, you will be well ahead of the game by the time you receive your distance learning associate, bachelors, or masters degree in advertising. Done effectively, distance learning can play an important role in preparing for and launching a successful career as an online advertising executive.
