Office Decorating 101: Simple Elegance

Monday through Friday you sit in your office or cubicle, typing away at your computer and sorting through the stacks of paperwork on your desk. Chances are, your walls are a drab grey color, or, if you work for an “exciting” company, maybe they’re a drab salmon pink color. Either way, you simply cannot let these walls bring down your whole office interior! It’s time for an office interior revolution. Best of all, it’s not at all difficult to transform your office from a dull box to a pleasant workspace.

It’s the Simple Things, Really

The first thing is to add pictures of loved ones or art to those bare spots on your wall. If you’re not allowed to make holes in the wall, use sticky tack. Make sure you at least attempt to coordinate the colors of your frames; otherwise you may make the office look worse than it did before. Remember, to make your workspace the most enjoyable, you need to retain a nice balance of order and flair in your office décor. Having an orderly office can make it easier to concentrate on work while still enjoying your office décor.

A Bright Idea For Your Desk Space

Possibly one of the classiest, most enjoyable pieces of office décor that you can add to your office interior is the green-shaded pull-cord office desk lamp. Put it in the area where you do all your paperwork and writing-by-hand. Looking at your paper under the soft yellow glow of these desk lamps will prevent that “fluorescent-light-wide-eyed-buzzed-yet-sleepy” feeling. Plus, they look absolutely great!

Follow this Golden Rule of office décor and you can always be sure your office looks great: simplicity, order, and elegance, not dullness, messiness, or fluorescents!
