A Black and White Issue: The Apprentice Gets Racial

After a decline in ratings of the hit television series The Apprentice, Donald Trump has plans for assembling an African-American business development team versus a team of all white consulting participants. As you can guess, this is creating a buzz around Hollywood that not everyone appreciates.

"Whether people like that idea or not, it is somewhat reflective of our very vicious world," according to Trump. "But needless to say, not everybody thinks it's a good idea." In the back of your mind, you have to consider that this negative reaction might be the spark that the show needs to garner and retain viewers. Opponents of the idea believe that this type of business development competition might fuel negative implications for the losing consulting team.

University of Phoenix is chosen by more working adults than any other university in the U.S. Learn the skills you need to succeed at conveniently located campuses.

The Apprentice Highlights:

  • Apprentice The Musical. The Donald and show producers have tossed around the idea of creating a Broadway musical that captures the essence of the show.
  • First Woman Apprentice. Female business development consultant and real estate pro Kendra was hired by Donald as the first female apprentice in the shows brief history.
  • The Apprentice Burger. Burger King, the famed home of The Whopper, introduces the new Apprentice burger, which is just as big as the business culture TV show.

If The Apprentice fever has caught you, and you believe you have the business development consulting skills to make a splash, you should consider earning your business degree and begin developing your consulting abilities. Not only will you begin a promising new career, but you might find yourself as a contestant on the show. Trump might end up firing you, but who else would you rather have doing that than The Donald himself?

Business Development Consulting:

  • Environment. With a career in business development consulting, you will be working in the boardroom of a Fortune 500 company.
  • Outlook. With our business sector growing in leaps and bounds, you will find an above average employment growth rate in this profession.
  • Education. A business development consulting degree is usually a four year program from an accredited business school.
