A Black and White Issue: The Apprentice Gets Racialby Kelly Richardsonkelly.richardson@careertrainingdirectory.com Career Ed Corner Columnist After a decline in ratings of the hit television series The Apprentice, Donald Trump has plans for assembling an African-American business development team versus a team of all white consulting participants. As you can guess, this is creating a buzz around Hollywood that not everyone appreciates. "Whether people like that idea or not, it is somewhat reflective of our very vicious world," according to Trump. "But needless to say, not everybody thinks it's a good idea." In the back of your mind, you have to consider that this negative reaction might be the spark that the show needs to garner and retain viewers. Opponents of the idea believe that this type of business development competition might fuel negative implications for the losing consulting team.
