The hospitality industry is ranked high among the fastest growing industries in the nation. Along with supervisory positions in hotels and motels, restaurant management jobs have a critical role.

With more than 11 million personnel in the food service industry alone, a restaurant management career is a goal worth pursuing. Restaurant management jobs can be found with large restaurant chains or with those independently owned and operated. As with many career paths, there are choices to be made along the way and being prepared for them will serve you well.

Heat up your culinary career. California Culinary Academy is situated in San Francisco, one of the largest culinary centers in the universe.

Choices in Restaurant Management Training

Your restaurant management career choices may depend on the restaurant management training you attain. A variety of restaurant management jobs may be available to you regardless of training but having some personal aspirations before you start restaurant management training will be helpful.

For instance, if you know that you want to own your own business eventually then you may want training that caters toward ownership. Deciding on a two-year associate degree or four-year bachelor degree will be easier if you already know what kind of restaurant management jobs you are looking for. An interview with someone already in a restaurant management career could save you from making costly mistakes in your choice of restaurant management training.

Pursuing a Restaurant Management Career

With solid restaurant management training there should be entry-level restaurant management jobs for you to start with. General food services experience will be an asset to your restaurant management career so take advantage of opportunities while you study.

A national restaurant chain would be a great place to begin a restaurant management career and could provide long-term employment or the experience you might want if you are planning to start your own business. There are also restaurant management jobs available in institutions such as nursing homes, hospitals, hotels and resorts.
