Madonna Says No TV or Ice Cream! Family Counselors Shudder

In a tale of a true parent trap, the tabloid magazines are reporting that Madonna is the classic nightmare mother. In fact her strict regime of no television or ice cream for her children has family counselors wondering about her competency to be a mother. Here are all of the juicy details.

Diva and 80s pop culture icon Madonna has enraged family counselors with her stoic stance on parenting. The Material Girl recently told Newsweek magazine that she does not allow her kids to watch television, read newspapers or magazines, or even drink milk or eat ice cream. She also has a list of strict laundry duties for her children that they must adhere to. Despite the advice of counselors on the subject, Madonna remains firm in these rules and admits that only her husband allows the children to break from them.

Family Counselors Abhor Madonna

  • Two Beautiful Children. Madonna says that she's the disciplinarian for 9-year old Lourdes and 5-year old Rocco while her husband tends to let them be a little bit freer when he's at home.
  • Laundry Hell. Madonna also revealed that if Lourdes leaves her laundry lying around, they collect the garments and place them in a bag that she has to earn back again by doing things right.
  • Counselors Up in Arms. Madonna's parenting practices have reportedly drawn ire from family counselors and child rearing experts all across the country.

You can tell from this story that our country has a real need for family counselors who have completed a thorough training program. We live in a world where children should be able to watch television and eat ice cream. If you have a knack for mediation, then you should consider earning your family counselor training credentials and beginning your own practice.

Family Counselor Training

  • Education. Becoming a family counselor typically requires four years of training through an accredited degree program.
  • Environment. As a family counselor, you will be working in a clean, smoke-free office helping your patients through their troubles.
  • Career Outlook. The demand for family counselors with certified training will only increase over the next decade.
