Sometimes the things we can't live without are the things that we take most for granted. Living without heat air conditioning and refrigeration is one of those things.
Without the technology behind air conditioning, we would be spending most of our time chopping wood, digging cold storage pits, and chopping ice in the winter. A vast amount of the time we have for other pursuits is due to the innovation of air conditioning technology. How Long is an Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration (HVAC) Course? In order to complete your air conditioning training you can expect to spend approximately 1600 hours in class. You will learn how to install, diagnose, repair and maintain heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in all sizes of structures, including household, business, industrial, and even multi-unit dwellings. You will learn the principles of refrigeration and how to recognize the various symptoms of potential problems with a variety of types of air conditioners. You will get a specific blend of practical experience where you will work hands on with air conditioners, identifying problems, installing them, assessing needs and spending real time at maintenance. This combination of knowledge and experience will give you air conditioning training that will prepare you for a successful air conditioning job. What is the Job Market Like? Because everyone has either a heater, air conditioner, or refrigeration unit - if not all three - the potential for air conditioning jobs is very high. Some air conditioning jobs are specialized and will be beneath the umbrella of a large company, perhaps an appliance retailer. The employment options are many; work for a repair company, or perhaps even own your own air conditioner repair business. Pay is very lucrative, and is usually based on a per hour rate contract air conditioning repair jobs. You may earn around $2500.00 per month - sometimes, even beyond that.
